My Host Dad, a New American Citizen

On Friday, September 24, my host dad became an American citizen. He is from Palestine. We went downtown to a building where people from around the world became citizens too. It was a good moment for us (me, Madina, my host sister from Kazakhstan, and Shanazar from Turkmenistan). There, I saw the people who will be citizens sign some documents and the staff gave them papers and American Flags. After that, they sat in chairs and the MC (master of ceremony) said their country's name, and they stood up so we'd know where they came from. There are about 240 people who came from more than 50 countries like vietnam, Palestine, Indonesia, Africa, and many from Mexico. After that, they said a promise to become an American citizen and sang the American Anthem. It was pretty awesome.

After the ceremony, we went to Kansas City and went to World of Fun, a really big theme park with roller coasters. I played some games but I'm really scared of roller coaster because they're really high. But I went on line for one kind of roller coaster, I didn't know that it was the highest one in the park, I just realized it when I stood in line for it. I was really scared and I ran away because I changed my mind. It was kinda embarrassing because there was a little boy beside me who just 8 years old and he really brave. lol

At night, some people walked around with Halloween costumes and scared us. That was freaking cool, I liked their costumes. The next day, we went shopping. We love shopping. I bought some warm stuff because it was starting to get cold in my city!
